What is MetaTrader 4?
MetaTrader 4, usually shortened to MT4, is a trading platform built by MetaQuotes and used by brokers worldwide. It gives you live charts, 30 built-in technical indicators, nine timeframes and four pending order types, and it runs Expert Advisors — programs that place trades according to rules you set. The platform itself is free. You connect it to a trading account with a broker such as Tradeview MENA.

MT5 is not a newer MT4. It is a different platform with a different programming language, and an Expert Advisor written for one will not run on the other. Choose by what you trade and what you already own.

How to download MT4 and start trading
Four steps from download to your first order.
Open your Tradeview account
Complete the account form, upload your ID and a proof of address dated within the last three months. There is no minimum deposit.
Download the platform
Choose the MT4 build for Windows, Mac, web or mobile and install it.
Log in
Open MT4, go to File then Login to Trade Account, search for Tradeview in the server list, and enter the account number and password from your welcome email.
Add markets and trade
Right-click Market Watch, choose Symbols, add the instruments you want, then open a chart and place your first order.

Download the MetaTrader 4 app on Android or iOS and manage open positions, charts and orders from your phone.
